Activities

Through our Activities Co-ordinator, Barty House Nursing Home provides a wide range of daily therapeutic and leisure activities. Favourites include arts and crafts, bingo, reading and poetry groups. Our annual Strawberry Tea in the Summer is renowned! We regularly hold events to which families and friends are welcomed. Outings are arranged to local beauty spots, gardens, theatres, shopping trips, and sometimes a drive out for a cup of tea and cake. All residents who have a special interest or hobby are encouraged and, if practicable, facilitated to enable them to continue. From time to time we provide special entertainment from external organisations and clothes shows. Our library contains a varied selection of books including large print and talking books.  Newspapers and magazines can also be delivered at extra cost.

Our Activities Co-ordinators also spend time with residents on an individual basis reading newspapers to them and helping with their post. Each month a social calendar is delivered to each resident with a programme of activities.
