About Barty House

Dating back to the Georgian era, Barty House combines listed magnificence with thoroughly modern facilities and extensive gardens for our residents to enjoy. Our dedicated and highly professional staff provide exceptional, person-centred nursing, dementia and palliative/end-of-life care with empathy and compassion, respecting the dignity of our residents at all times. We also provide short-term care for residents who need some looking after following a hospital stay, or their usual carers are taking a well deserved break.

Our Values at Barty House Care Home

Barty House Nursing Home is situated in the charming Kentish village of Bearsted, close to Maidstone. Housed in a beautifully restored Georgian building, it combines historic character with modern facilities to provide a comfortable and welcoming environment. The home offers a wide range of care services, including residential, nursing, dementia, palliative, and respite care, all delivered with a strong focus on person-centred support tailored to each resident’s needs.

With various spacious bedrooms, many featuring ensuite facilities and views of the gardens, Barty House ensures residents enjoy privacy and comfort. Our home is equipped with modern amenities such as adjustable beds, Wi-Fi, nurse-call systems, and specialist equipment to support mobility and safety. Communal areas include cosy lounges, dining rooms, and well-maintained gardens where residents can relax and socialise.

A dedicated team of nursing and care staff provide round-the-clock support, working alongside housekeeping and other support services to maintain a clean, safe, and homely atmosphere. Additional facilities like an on-site hair salon add to residents’ quality of life. Accessibility is a priority, with lifts, wide corridors, and pressure-relieving mattresses available to meet individual needs.

High Quality Care

Our ethos is founded on high ethical standards, transparency, and an ultra-caring approach to both residents and staff. These principles, along with our values of Care, Family, Honesty, and Commitment are deeply integrated into the ways we support everyone in our care, every single day.

Beyond residential and nursing care, we deliver specialist services including palliative/end-of-life care and dementia care, as well as short-term stays for those needing extra support after hospitalisation or when regular carers are unavailable. This flexible approach allows individuals to receive tailored care without committing to permanent residency.

Our staff demonstrate a genuine passion for caring, consistently recognised and valued by residents and their families. Residents’ needs always come first, and our dedicated team works tirelessly to ensure their safety, wellbeing, and autonomy, empowering them to live life on their own terms.

Making It Home

Your room comes with an adjustable bed, bedside cabinet, wardrobe, drawers or dressing table, armchair, and TV. You’ll have seen your room or a similar one before moving in. Free Wi-Fi and wheelchair space are provided.

Residents are encouraged to make their room feel truly personal and comfortable by bringing clothes, toiletries, small furniture, and cherished belongings, provided there is adequate space for safe care. Before introducing furniture or electrical items, please consult with the manager in advance. Displaying photos, ornaments, plants, and bird feeders can help create a home-like atmosphere and also support staff in getting to know residents as individuals
