Dementia Care FAQs

Before moving into our home, a consultation will be arranged with our Home Manager, the prospective resident, and their loved ones to ensure we fully understand and can meet their individual needs. During this consultation, we learn about their daily routines, interests, and preferences to help us develop a personalised care plan. We take a person-centred approach to care, aiming to support residents in maintaining their independence and dignity, while providing reassurance that help is always available when needed.

We invest in the training and development of our dementia care staff as they undergo the necessary training to ensure they are kept up to date with the very latest in dementia care and support. Our teams are experienced in providing effective care to residents living with dementia, including providing support with activities, therapies, communication, mobility, medication management, and personal care.

At Barty House we provide a varied activities programme that everyone can participate in, which includes both group and 1:1 activities and therapies. For example, we regularly offer arts & crafts sessions, music therapy, sensory activities and reminiscence activities to benefit residents living with dementia by supporting their mental, emotional and physical well-being.

We require a 28-day notice period for residents receiving any of our long-term care types and are looking to move out. Our compassionate team are on hand around the clock to support you with your moving transition and answer any further questions you have.
