The type of nursing care provided in a care home varies according to each individual’s needs. At Barty House, we offer a comprehensive range of nursing services, including medication management, wound care, assistance with daily activities, and support for those with physical disabilities and long-term health conditions, as well as specialised end-of-life and respite care.

You should consider nursing care if you notice any of the below happening:

• Worsening chronic health conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease, or dementia
• Difficulty performing activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, or grooming
• Recent falls, injuries, hospitalisations or emergency room visits
• Significant weight loss or changes in appetite
• Increased confusion or forgetfulness
• Difficulty managing medications or complying with treatment plans
• Need for specialised medical equipment or care, such as oxygen therapy or wound care

Our nursing staff will assess the level of care that is needed and provide advice on the most appropriate nursing care approach for you or your loved one. It is important when making the decision to move into a care home that you communicate openly with your loved ones and ensure that the prospective resident is involved in the decision-making process.

At Barty House, we take the safety of our residents very seriously. We achieve this by ensuring adequate staffing levels are achieved, that the nursing staff are appropriately trained and qualified, that protocols for infection control and medication management are implemented, and that regular safety audits and assessments are carried out. We also put the relevant security measures in place to prohibit restricted access and to protect the safety of residents.

We require a 28-day notice period for residents receiving any of our long-term care types and are looking to move out. Our compassionate team are on hand around the clock to support you with your moving transition and answer any further questions you have.
