Burns Night celebrations started in the early afternoon for our residents!

Shirley read the ‘Selkirk Grace,’ as the haggis paraded around the room to the sound of bagpipes. A wee dram of whiskey accompanied our haggis tasting and then we began the competitive business of quizzing! Under the watchful eyes and ears of our resident Scottish lady, Helen, residents were asked to translate Scottish words into English!

After tea and cake, we burst into song and gave rousing renditions of, ‘My Bonny Lies Over The Ocean,’ and, ‘Donald, Where’s Your Trousers?” Lastly, we recited some memorable and poetic words in honour of the great man himself, Robert Burns!
