Becky is the latest recruit to Team Barty, joining as Head of Activities.  It’s her job, working alongside her team, to give Barty House residents a good quality of life that’s filled with variety, fun and laughter. Becky also organizes regular trips out while ensuring that residents who cannot travel still receive special attention.

Having achieved a Level 3 Diploma for the Children’s and Young People’s Workforce, Becky also took the Nursing Access Diploma last year. She’s an entrepreneur, too, running her own photography business working with children, families and newlyweds, and much of her spare time is spent in the studio or editing photos. She recently sold her other business – catering for children’s parties and entertainment – to buy her first family home with husband Aaron. The couple have been together for 11 years. Aaron’s skills as a software developer come in very handy for the photography business.

Becky loves her new role at Barty House. She says: “I enjoy working with our fantastic team. Without a doubt my favorite part of the job is seeing residents smile and knowing that I’ve contributed towards it. I also love their life stories. What they’ve done in their lives and their ages amaze me – the other day I got beaten at boules by a sprightly 99-year-old!”

She is also a proud mum to son Harley, aged 9, a very sporting little boy who enjoys mixed martial arts and basketball. Perhaps the person most surprised by Becky’s new role was her brother Chris – who just happens to be Barty House’s Facilities Technician! She says: “It makes it a family affair, just like the Barty House team!”
