Five of our residents set off for Invicta Grammar School having received an invitation from the school to a community event organised by the students. Others were also invited such as Age Concern and the local WI, it was a community gathering to celebrate Christmas.

The students excelled themselves by providing an endless stream of beverages mince pies and biscuits to eat. Each guest had an assigned 6th form student to themselves to chat with. Daphne enlightened her student with her knowledge of trams.

There was a visual Christmas Quiz, that covered Christmases in cities around the world. Barty residents totalled 39/40 though didn’t get the prize as their score was realised too late. The students also laid on two games of Bingo, followed by a wonderful musical presentation of carols.

A big thank you to Invicta Grammar School and their well organised and inspirational students for a marvellous morning. All of the residents appreciated their efforts and were thrilled to be a part of the community gathering. We would love to come along again another time!
