Debbie
Parker and her team of four look after Barty House’s reception, home and
financial administration. They’re also proud to show prospective residents and
their families around the home, helping them make the sometimes difficult
decision about choosing a care home for their loved ones.

Managing this busy department is a demanding role but Debbie is more than equal to the task. She’s a highly trained and experienced secretary/PA – a veteran of Courier Newspapers and other well-known companies, including the upmarket Stakis Hotels (now part of the Hilton Group) where she was PA to the general manager as well as conference coordinator. As the hotel was still under construction, Debbie swapped her suit and heels for a hard hat and welly boots!

Other roles include sales manager and then director/owner/partner of a print company and, proving that it’s a very small world, she spent 11 years with a Four Seasons care home in Rochester – run by Barty House’s Home Manager Gabriele Jerome!

A former
figure skater and karate brown belt in her younger years, Debbie is delighted
to be working with Gabriele once again. She says: “Here at Barty House everyone
cares. You’re a name with a smiley face and all the residents and staff are
like family. It helps to be like this because, after all, we’re dealing with
hearts and souls and feelings.”

Debbie is a
proud mother of two grown-up children – Matt who is a builder by trade and
Chelsea, a trained car mechanic who now works as a senior care assistant in a
dementia care home. Debbie’s husband Jon is a retired American Football quarterback
who was fortunate enough to play for Team GB in his younger years. Debbie
has also been blessed by the arrival of six-month old Isla, her beloved
granddaughter, who is already a firm favorite with the residents of Barty
House, not to mention the apple of Debbie’s eye.
