Barty Residents preparing for Chutney Mass Production

October has been an apple extravaganza at Barty House, we have eaten them, printed with them, quizzed over them and most recently made delicious chutney with them courtesy of Laura’s local farm we had plenty of scrumptious apples to choose from. The residents added; sultanas, mixed spice, and onions along with other ingredients which they carefully prepared. After a mere three hours on the stove, the chutney was ready to be put into jars. It will be ready to eat just in time for Christmas. David nodded off possibly during the three-hour stewing session, and poor Shirley who loves nothing more than to cook was too poorly on the day to join in. However, she was presented with a jar of the chutney which she was thrilled with.

Watch out at Christmas Reception may well be adorned with pretty chutney jars for sale, for our annual festive fundraising.
Thank you to all the folk who responded to our request for jam jars!
