The children from the local childminder’s arrived at Barty for their annual Christmas Party dressed for the occasion in their festive clothes. As ever they were impeccably behaved for such little people and as ever the residents were thrilled to be among them. Now that the Diddy Bartlet’s are having a monthly play sessions at Barty they are growing in confidence and interactions are becoming more playful between them and our residents.

This year the children had a Christmas craft session where they made beautiful little paper wreaths, sang some festive songs to us all and of course indulged in some yummy party food. Seeing the little ones sat two each in our big dinning chairs around the huge opulent dining table was a sight to behold.

An added bonus this year was the first ‘Canford Goes Live Event’ all twelve Canford Nursing Homes sang the Twelve Days of Christmas simultaneously. Barty were fortunate to have the pre-school children with us to join in the fun, the children played their musical instruments throughout the song to accompany our dreadful singing voices and make it sound slightly more palatable.
