The Birds of Prey Team from Leeds Castle came to Barty House on the 20th July, for the second consecutive year.

Mark Brattle and Hannah Donoghue thrilled our residents yet again, with their up close and personal introduction to a variety of birds.

It felt so wonderful to be invited to stroke the feathers of a variety of owls, some small and one absolutely huge! We were also treated to a flying display from Hannah’s falcon.

We, at Barty House, are very grateful to have someone of Mark’s experience and his knowledge really added to our day, as he told us interesting facts about each individual bird. Mark has been appointed to be Maidstone’s Swan Master and part of his duties include counting the swans on the river every year.

So if you see him on the river, give him a wave!
